SuperGaming's Indus Enters Fortnite In A Strategic Move To Reach Out To Its 400 Million Registered Players
SuperGaming's Indus, a made-in-India battle royale game will be playable in Fortnite now. Revealed during the India Game Developer Conference 2023 in Hyderabad, players will be able to experience Indus’ gameplay, map, modes, and more in Fortnite for PC and macOS. This was developed using Epic Games’ Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) by a two-woman team at SuperGaming in about 27 days.
“We learned, built, and created Indus with UEFN in about 27 days with no prior Unreal experience. This will allow us to test Indus’ gameplay with external audiences faster and give more gamers a chance to experience Indo-Futurism through their game of choice, i.e., Fortnite,” said Christelle D'cruz, Co-founder, SuperGaming.
While Indus is slated to hit mobile with the Closed Beta this festive season, Indus in Fortnite is a separate experience for PC and macOS in Fortnite Creator Mode with a release date that will be announced soon. BW Businessworld asked CEO Roby John if he had a date in mind for the big launch yet. "Not yet. We want the game to be perfect for users," replied John.
Along with Indus’ environments, its Cosmium-focussed win condition — that allows players to win by capturing this unique resource that manifests on the map — has also been brought to Fortnite.
“At SuperGaming we firmly believe that India’s culture and talent demands the biggest possible stage for the world to see and play in,” stated Roby John, Co-founder and CEO, SuperGaming. “With Fortnite having an estimated 220 million monthly players globally, there’s no better way to bring Indus and Indo-Futurism to the world,” added John.
Players will be able to share their thoughts on various aspects of the game and impact the direction of how SuperGaming crafts its most ambitious title yet. This is inline with how SuperGaming has crafted its biggest hits — MaskGun and Silly Royale.
