Tech major Google has collaborated with cross-platform messaging service provider Mio to provide seamless connectivity between Google Chat and various other platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Slack, Zoom Team Chat and many others.
This partnership will help Google Workspace customers stay on Google Chats and communicate with users on various platforms through direct messages, spaces and group chats.
Currently, the interoperability between Google Chat, Microsoft Teams and Slack is available to selected Workspace customers through a beta programme. However, the company is set to roll out the functionality for all businesses through a Google Workspace subscription.
This cross-messaging will support files and media sharing, emojis, threaded messages and more. Additionally, there will be an option to edit and delete messages sent to users on other platforms.
Meanwhile, to access seamless messaging organisations will require a separate Mio license and the Mio app installation onto their respective chat platforms.
In a similar vein, Meta was also recently in talks for WhatsApp and Messenger’s interoperability with third-party applications to comply with the Digital Markets Act (DMA) in the EU.
