NTT Data on Monday expanded its partnership with Google Cloud aimed at accelerating cloud-based data analytics and generative AI adoption for businesses across the Asia Pacific region (APAC).
By combining NTT Data's deep industry expertise and extensive client network with Google Cloud's advanced AI, data analytics, and cloud solutions, the two companies seek to transform how enterprises across sectors like healthcare, finance, insurance, retail, and the public sector approach digital innovation.
The enhanced collaboration is expected enable businesses to drive operational efficiency and agility while reimagining growth opportunities in the AI era.
Central to this partnership is the launch of a specialised NTT Data Google Cloud Business Unit dedicated to developing industry-specific solutions around data analytics, generative AI, and digital modernisation.
Additionally, the collaboration will strengthen support for critical areas like modern infrastructure, cybersecurity, and SAP solutions on Google Cloud’s platform. To support this effort, NTT Data is enhancing its in-house expertise on Google Cloud by initiating extensive training and certification programs for sales, pre-sales, and delivery teams, aiming to certify at least 1,000 new professionals in the APAC region on top of its existing 2,600 Google-certified engineers worldwide.
“This expanded partnership brings together NTT DATA’s expertise in digital transformation and deep-rooted understanding of APAC’s diverse markets with Google Cloud’s unparalleled AI and cloud innovations. This isn’t just about adopting new technologies; it’s about reimagining what’s possible for businesses in the AI age,” said John Lombard, Chief Executive Officer, NTT Data, APAC.
“Our partner ecosystem is a cornerstone of our growth strategy, and this collaboration with Google Cloud is expected to grow our cloud business in APAC by 10x+ in 3 years,” he added.
With generative AI relying heavily on quality data for accurate insights and training, the joint solutions are designed to integrate NTT Data’s data analytics capabilities with Google Cloud’s technology to drive tangible business outcomes. This focus on data and AI has reportedly already led to successful projects, including one with a major retailer that achieved a 22 per cent rise in digital inquiries and an 85 per cent boost in occupancy rates by leveraging data-driven insights.
The partnership also aligns with a broader trend highlighted by Gartner, which projects global spending on public cloud services to reach USD 679 billion in 2024 and exceed USD 1 trillion by 2027, driven in part by the increasing demand for AI-ready cloud infrastructure.
