Nasscom has appointed Cognizant India CMD Rajesh Nambiar as its President Designate, with plans for him to succeed the current President Debjani Ghosh, when her term concludes in November 2024.
Nambiar is a seasoned leader with an extensive background in the technology sector, has held prominent roles at major companies including TCS, IBM, Ciena and Cognizant.
Outgoing President Debjani Ghosh, who has played a crucial role in positioning India's tech sector as a global leader, praised the leadership at Nasscom and expressed confidence in Nambiar's ability to elevate the organisation further.
“The tech sector is pivotal to India’s growth and Nasscom has played a key role in shaping India’s tech leadership globally. Leadership at Nasscom is fully empowered to carry forward the charter and I am confident that Rajesh will elevate it to even greater heights. I welcome him and look forward to working with him,” she said.
The selection of Nambiar followed a rigorous search process led by a committee chaired by Keshav R. Murugesh, with contributions from industry veterans including Harish Mehta, Som Mittal, Krishnakumar Natarajan and Sindhu Gangadharan.
