Global technology services company Accenture has promoted Arundhati Chakraborty to take on the role of group chief executive of Accenture Operations on 1 September. Chakraborty currently serves as the global lead for delivery and transformation operations and will take over from Yusuf Tayob, who will transition to the position of global communications, media, and technology (CMT) industry practices chair.
Chakraborty brings over 30 years of industry experience to her new role, where she will be responsible for steering Accenture’s USD 10 billion Operations business. Her focus will be on leveraging generative AI (GenAI) and automation to drive innovation and transformation for Accenture’s clients. With her expertise in managing large-scale operational transformations, Chakraborty will lead the company’s efforts in helping clients reinvent their operations using advanced technology, data, and AI.
“With incredibly deep expertise partnering with clients to drive large-scale transformations in their operations, Arundhati is uniquely positioned to lead this critical part of our business,” said Julie Sweet chair and CEO of Accenture. “Arundhati’s commitment to developing talent and new services based on gen AI and automation make her the ideal leader for our Operations business.”
Yusuf Tayob, who has a distinguished two-decade career in the communications, media, and technology sector, will remain with Accenture in his new role. Tayob has previously led the North America CMT consulting practice and the Salesforce business group within Accenture Technology. His new role will see him focusing on driving innovation and growth within the company’s priority industry practices.
Both executives will continue to serve on Accenture’s Global Management Committee, with Chakraborty based in Bengaluru and Tayob remaining in the US.
