Cognizant and Microsoft on Tuesday announced plans to integrate Microsoft’s generative AI and Copilots across a broad spectrum of enterprise operations.
The company has secured 25,000 Microsoft 365 Copilot seats and an additional 1,000 seats across Sales and Services Copilot. This strategic acquisition is part of Cognizant’s broader initiative to enhance productivity, streamline workflows and transform customer experiences for its global clientele.
The collaboration between the two tech giants is set to extend Microsoft 365 Copilot to a million users among Cognizant’s Global 2000 clients, affecting 11 major industries. This initiative is underpinned by Cognizant’s commitment to generative AI, with a USD 1 billion investment planned over the next three years to foster innovation and research in this field.
Further cementing this initiative is Cognizant’s extensive training program, Synapse, which has already equipped 35,000 developers with skills in GitHub Copilot, with plans to train an additional 40,000.
“Generative AI can be a game-changer for virtually every business in every industry, opening up new possibilities for innovation, efficiency and growth,” said Ravi Kumar S, CEO, Cognizant, in a statement.
The partnership also targets specific industry challenges, such as in healthcare, where generative AI is poised to automate up to one-third of tasks for emergency physicians, potentially alleviating staffing issues and improving patient outcomes. Moreover, the partners plan to leverage Copilot Studio to develop customised AI solutions tailored to the unique needs of various business functions and industries, including retail, financial services, life sciences, manufacturing, and media.
“That’s why we are investing USD 1 billion in generative AI over the next three years and leading the development of new research to explore its potential for our clients, their employees and end customers. We’re committed to helping them harness the power of generative AI at scale, and Microsoft Copilot is a proven tool that can bring transformative gains, unlocking talent and potential in ways we can only imagine,” added the Cognizant CEO.
