Tata Trusts Signs MoU With Madhya Pradesh To Boost Healthcare Indicators

The Government of Madhya Pradesh and Tata Trusts have announced a partnership via a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to implement interventions in the crucial areas of healthcare, nutrition, mental health and cancer care in the state.

Through this collaboration, the state government will be able to achieve convergence of their programmes and improve efficiencies as well.

Tata Trusts will play a role in setting up of these initiatives along with strategic and technical advisory support. It will also work together with government in overseeing successful execution of the identified programmes.

The state government and Tata Trusts will jointly work in a number of areas.

A Lead Development Partner (LDP) for RMNCHA+ Technical Experts team will be set up in the state to support goals defined in the "Varshik Karyyojana" of the state health department.

Engagement of the Ujjain District Hospital in the National Cancer Grid (NCG) will be set up.

They will implement the TRI (Transforming Rural India) initiative, set up by Tata Trusts, to improve the quality of lives of communities through a multi-dimensional approach. It will bring in various partners and stakeholders to address issues in areas such as maternal, neonatal and child health; family planning, maternal and child nutrition; vaccine-preventable diseases.

Gowri Singh, principal secretary of the Madhya Pradesh government, said: "This partnership has a focus on high priority districts of Madhya Pradesh and the aim is to improve the health indicators in these districts in areas of cancer, mental health and nutrition. We hope that the partnership with Tata Trusts will improve the health outcomes of the state considerably."

Speaking about the partnership, Burzis S Taraporevala, Secretary and Chief Accountant, SRTT & At, Tata Trusts, said: "We share a common goal with the Government of Madhya Pradesh and this partnership will help us achieve our objectives towards improving the health and nutrition outcomes of the state through highly focused initiatives."

Tata Trusts will recruit experts in the technical team of Lead Development Partner (LDP). It will further provide technical advisory support to health and nutrition programmes.
