Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, on Wednesday (18 November) announced the signing of The Westin Pushkar Resort & Spa, which will mark the brand's seventh hotel in the country. Owned by Paradise Properties, the newly built resort is slated to open in 2016.
“Rajasthan has emerged as one of India’s most popular tourist destinations for both domestic and foreign tourists, which has primed the region for further development and increased the demand for accommodations designed with well-being in mind,” said Sudeep Jain, vice-president, acquisitions and development, South-Asia, Starwood Hotels and Resorts.
“We are confident that the Westin brand’s entry into this market will enhance the hospitality landscape of this destination.”
It is surrounded by Aravali Hills and close to Pushkar Lake, the Westin Pushkar Resort and Spa has 11 acres of space and features 98 contemporary guestrooms, including 80 luxurious suites.

We aim to create a unique experience based on Westin’s philosophy of holistic well-being and leisure that will complement the spiritual ambience of Pushkar, he added.
Pushkar is one of the oldest existing cities of India, separated from Ajmer by the Nag Parbat, known locally as the snake hill. The Westin Pushkar Resort and Spa is ideally located to experience the various cultural and historical offerings and the famous Brahma Temple which dates back to the 14th century.
