SelectJobs, a Mumbai-based employment portal for junior and entry level positions, has launched a bikers rally from September 8 to 12, 2015 in Mumbai.
The idea behind the rally is to encourage the youth to sign up for biker delivery jobs.
To attract maximum participation, the company got Royal Enfield bikes for their appeal and aspirational value among the young crowd, says Amit Saxena, co-founder, SelectJobs.
“There is a demand for 1,25,000 delivery boys from e-commerce and courier companies in India every year and we see this demand picking up in the upcoming Diwali season. There are already 60,000 jobs listed on our portal just from Delhi. We thought a bike rally would be a fun way to create awareness among the unemployed youth about this growing job opportunity in the delivery space,” he adds.
The rally will cover 25 colleges of Mumbai University such as Dr BMN College of Home Science, Akbar Peerbhoy College of Commerce And Economics, Dr. Ambedkar College Of Law and many others to get students to enrol.
To encourage more registrations on the SelectJobs portal, the company has simplified the procedure for job seekers who are not fluent with English or don’t own a computer at home. They can give a miss call to the company’s number or send an SMS to them. Alternatively, they can also download the mobile app or go to the company’s kiosks where they can register by sharing their Aadhar number or finger impressions. The company then sends them relevant job profiles through SMS.
In first two days of the rally, the company has got more than 1,600 registrations on their job portal.
Till date, the company has registered 15,000 plus delivery boys on its portal with an earning capability between Rs 12,000 - Rs 18,000 per month, informs Saxena. Some of the bigwigs such as Flipkart, Delhivery, Ziprun has relied on SelectJobs for their troop of delivery boys.
SelectJobs was founded by Amit Saxena and Paresh Rajde in October 2014. Saxena is the founder of another Mumbai-based overseas recruitment company Ambe International and Paresh Rajde heads Suvidhaa Infoserve, a payment and remittance company.
Apart from delivery jobs, SelectJobs also provides jobs from companies in India and Middle East for candidates at the bottom of the pyramid for positions like sales, retail, insurance, electricians, plumber, mason and other such jobs.
