SAP Labs India plans to hire 2,000 more employees in India during the present calendar year. The company has already onboarded 1,600 people this year.
The company has said that it is also going to establish a new campus in Bengaluru by 2025, which will continue to focus on sustainability, wellness and inclusivity while keeping the employee at the centre of SAP’s thought process. This campus will be spread across over 40 acres of land in Devanahalli area of Bengaluru and seat 15,000 people.
SAP Labs will be onboarding 2,000 more people in the current calendar year. Addressing the media, Thomas Saueressig, SAP SE's executive board member, said, "The R&D workforce of India is the backbone of SAP. All of our innovation at scale comes from here. The doubling (of SAP Labs) workforce will be the major growth driver for SAP in the future".
"The hiring is not due to labour arbitrage or cost benefit purposes but reflective of huge growth seen in the cloud business", he added.
The Walldorf, Germany-headquartered company has said that it is doubling down on its investments in India.
SAP Labs has over 14,000 people on its payroll in India across locations, including Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai, Gurgaon and Hyderabad.
