On the Kashmir Solidarity Day in Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, prime minister of the Islamic republic country restated diplomatic, political, and moral support to the Kashmiri individuals until they attain their right to self-determination with respect to the UN Resolution, according to a media report on Monday.
He added Pakistan has always stressed a peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute as per relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
Addressing a special session of the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) assembly in Muzaffarabad he said while East Taimur, Darfur, and other areas of the world enjoy independence on ethnic grounds, Kashmir and Palestine are still devoid of freedom.
Later the prime minister in his special message mentioned the Kashmiris are struggling for their inalienable right to self-determination and that the Pakistanis will take up a commitment to provide unflinching support to them.
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also expressed political support for the Kashmiri people, as a key pillar of Pakistan's foreign policy.
The top brass from the Pakistan Army also paid tribute to the Kashmiris’ struggle for self-determination rights, at the solidarity walks to highlight the Kashmir issue and its importance for Pakistan.
Meanwhile, India has not taken any stand on this but has repeatedly told Pakistan before that Jammu and Kashmir "was, is and shall forever" remain an integral part of the country.
