After some delays, Chinese entertainment and IT brand LeTV officially made its entry in India through a launch event in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Known to be one of the largest online video companies in China, LeTV has been providing a variety of content in China and has also ventured into making smartphones, TVs and other smart products.
The company was also the first to make a smartphone with the new USB Type-C standard which is slowly being adopted by a number of manufacturers. However, the company didn’t announce any smartphone, but showcased three new products including a 3D VR headset, a Bluetooth headphone and a smart bicycle.
Le 3D HelmetThe Le 3D Helmet is VR headset through which the company wants to provide a cinematic experience to users. It is equipped with a 5.5-inch LCD display made by Sharp with a resolution of 2560x1440 and 70-degree field of view. It basically straps onto your and with the USB Type-C port it can connect to your smartphone via MHL signal input. The headset can be used to watch movies, videos and also play games. The overall quality of the video looks good but nothing exceptional and the headset also comes with a built-in diopter setting, which helps in focusing especially for people who wear glasses.
LeMe Bluetooth HeadphonesThe LeMe range Bluetooth Headphones come with a teardrop design and a variety of colours. The headset is pretty standard with a 195mAH Li-ion battery which provides power for about 10 hours and a standby time of close to 30 days. The design is all plastic and the colour range includes red, pink, blue, orange and white.
Super CycleAn unexpected announcement was the Super Cycle which is a smart bicycle which is the first of its product. The internet-enabled self-powered cycle which collects all data generated when cycling as well as monitor how you cycle and through cloud computing allows you to get real-time statistical data. There is also a fingerprint identification to make it secure. With the mobile app one will be able to get real-time positioning and remote lock and unlocking. It comes with a built-in touchscreen with a cycling interface built-in to provide cycling information. There is also a built-in digital PTT walkie-talkie, Bluetooth technology and a 3G WCDMA telecommunication module on the Super Cycle.
LeTV hasn’t announced any pricing of the products nor has confirmed when these products will arrive in the market. The company also announced that they will be hosting another event on the 20th where they will be announcing their flagship smartphone Le Max.
