Watashi wa Deep Majumdar desu and I will be describing my experience with the Aiwa Satori soundbar (this is where my prowess in the Japanese language meets its humble end). The Japanese brand has made quite a name for itself over the years and the Satori soundbar does justice to this reputation.
Audio is essential for home entertainment and the only way you can realise that is when you experience good audio yourself. The Aiwa Satori is a product that not only introduced me to good audio but also made me realise that good audio doesn’t necessarily need to be expensive. Furthermore, you do not need to be an audiophile to admire great-sounding audio.

The Aiwa Satori SSB240 comes packed in a pretty large box. Upon unboxing, we get to see the soundbar, the subwoofer, connecting cables and a bunch of paperwork.
The soundbar is black in colour and feels great to hold. The finish, the build quality and the design are such that it fits in any kind of décor without much effort. The soundbar isn’t huge either. It is decently sized which acts in its favour too. It can essentially fit virtually anywhere without obstructing the existing setting.
The subwoofer, on the other hand, does not give off a very different vibe. It has a plastic body and feels light to hold. Build quality has no issues but it does not feel premium to touch which might be a problem for some people.
The soundbar and the subwoofer both have a plastic build. The soundbar has four 2-inch drivers while the subwoofer has a 6.5-inch driver. The soundbar has connectivity ports at the back and right beside these ports are the hooks where you may hang it from.
The subwoofer is very sizeable and has a prominent presence. It has a switch at the back that can be used to turn the whole thing on and off, which is convenient. The power input and the connecting port to the soundbar are also located at the rear of the subwoofer.
It is a neat setup, really, and one that doesn’t need technical expertise to set it up and use. Once the subwoofer and soundbar are connected, all you need to do is turn on the power and connect your device.
With a 2.1 audio channel, the Aiwa Satori SSB240 soundbar promises to offer a holistic home audio experience. Probably, the best part about the soundbar is its compatibility with various devices. You can connect your TVs, your PC, your MacBook, tablets and of course, smartphones.
In terms of connectivity options, we have USB, SD card, Bluetooth, AUX, and optical HDMI (ARC). Bluetooth will be the most commonly used medium to use the soundbar. Come to think of it, I only used Bluetooth to connect my smartphone and laptop to the Satori soundbar. That being said, the Bluetooth v5.3 has a 10-meter range which is a highly appreciated feature if you need to go from room to room.
More importantly, it is worth noting that Aiwa has made the product easy to use. What I mean to say is that setting up and soundbar and using it is extremely intuitive and needs no technical knowledge whatsoever. Once the set-up is done and both the soundbar and subwoofer are placed properly, all you need to do is use the remote, connect your device and you are good to go. Also, do note that the soundbar has manual controls on the side too. The left side has options such as mode selection, play/pause, volume controls and options to go back and forth in tracks.
The audio quality is what truly surprised me. It was much better than I had expected. Whether you are a bass lover or a treble enthusiast, the Aiwa Satori soundbar has you covered. The remote control plays a key role here. It is pretty standard, if you look at it but that is what makes it good. You have options to customise treble, bass and volume. You can play and pause the media playing and it works on all devices. There is an option to switch between modes too.
As a brand, Aiwa is entering the Indian consumer electronics market after 18 years as it partners with Dixon Technologies for local manufacturing. Its wide range of products includes soundbars like the Satori AW-SSB240. At a price of Rs 10,999, the Aiwa Magnifiq Satori soundbar is a wonderful surprise. The audio output and quality are admirable due to the fact that it manages to give you a top-notch audio experience at a price that doesn’t burn the proverbial hole in your pocket.
As a side note, just remember to use such equipment responsibly and be sensitive to others around you.
