Lokendra Singh Kalvi, the founder of the Karni Sena and a prominent Rajput leader, has passed away at a State-run hospital in Jaipur on March 14th. According to family sources, Kalvi suffered a cardiac arrest late at night and passed away shortly after. He had been receiving treatment at the Sawai Man Singh Hospital for the past few days.
Kalvi, the son of former Union Minister Kalyan Singh Kalvi, was a national-level basketball player and the patron of the Shree Rajput Karni Sena. The Karni Sena had gained notoriety for leading the 2018 protests against Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film "Padmaavat," which the group claimed contained historical inaccuracies.
The funeral of Lokendra Singh Kalvi is expected to take place later in the day at his ancestral village in Kalvi village in Nagaur district.
