Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates said, Compared to the richest countries, India did a very good job on immunisation. The world can learn from the digital platforms India has established for health care.
The system's digitisation and public communication were both successful, the billionaire claimed in an interview with Hindustan Times.
According to Gates, a digital system was the only practical means to track vaccination for such a large population given the diversity of talent and the magnitude involved.
"They were demonstrating how they achieved that using a digital system while I was in the health ministry. We would like visitors from other nations to come and see that," he said.
Under the aegis of the ABDM (Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission), the government is attempting to improve the quality of the healthcare system using digitization.
Gates further said that we hired IIIT Bangalore to create an open-source identity system similar to Aadhar, and they're already collaborating with 10 nations that have already expressed interest. And I'm betting that number will increase to 20 or more with this G-20 visibility.
