India’s second largest two-wheeler company, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has tied up with the insurer HDFC Ergo to provide insurance for its two-wheelers across the country.
The Japanese auto major, Honda Motorcycle, has over 27 million Indian customers with 26 per cent market share. The company has already sold more than 22 lakh two-wheelers within the first five months of the 2016-17 fiscal.
"The two-wheeler insurance segment is rapidly evolving with renewals and multi-year policies on the rise. This is truly a win-win situation for our customers who will get 40 per cent saving on their insurance premium (own-damage) and near cashless claim settlement with the convenient digital interface," said Y S Guleria, senior vice-president, sales and marketing at HMSI.
The strategic alliance will provide for a comprehensive two-wheeler insurance cover to all customers of HMSI and near cashless repairs at over 4,650 sales outlets.
Ritesh Kumar, managing director and CEO of HDFC Ergo said, “Through this alliance Honda customers will get a robust online insurance support with instant policy issuance.”
The insurer said that this partnership will bring more awareness about the motor insurance and its renewal on time. HDFC Ergo has over 108 branches spread across 91 cities in India.
