The Chinese smartphone manufacturers, Xiaomi recently launched two smartphones Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite in Spain on Tuesday. The key highlights of Xiaomi Mi A2 is its Google's Android One program, Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, 20-megapixel selfie camera, and 6-inches display.
Mi A2 is the successor of Mi A1 which launched last year in the month of September. Both the phone is equipped with its Google's Android One program which enables them to get OS updates for next two years from their launch date.
Since Mi A2 is a successor of Mi A1, we compared both the handset in respect with their price and specifications.
Software, Processor and Storage
Xiaomi Mi A2 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo which and powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 512 GPU. The processor is based on Google's Android One program that enables the handset to get OS updates for next two years.
The handset is available in three different variants in terms of RAM+Storage configurations - 4GB+32GB, 4GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB.
Xiaomi Mi A1 was launched with Android 7.1.2 (Nougat) based on Google’s Android One programme and powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage which is expandable upto 128GB via dedicated memory slot.

Camera and Display
Xiaomi Mi A2 sports a vertically aligned dual camera setup at rear with 12-megapixels sensor with 1.25 μm pixels which clicks clearer photos in daylight and a 20-megapixels senor with 2 μm 4 in 1 pixel size which clicks brighter images during low-lighting conditions. On the front, there is a 20-megapixels Sony IMX 376 selfie snapper with Portrait mode, HSR and Face Beauty 4.0 and soft LED flash.
The handset features a 5.99-inches full HD+ (2160x1089) display with 18:9 aspect ratios. It has layer of protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Xiaomi Mi A1 features horizontally aligned two 12-megapixel sensors at the back - one with a wide-angle f/2.2 lens and the other with 1-micron pixel size and an aperture of f/2.6. For the selfie, the smartphone bears a 5-megapixel camera with real-time beautification mode.
The handset features 5.5 inches full HD+ (1080 x 1920 pixels) display with 16:9 aspect ratios. It has layer of protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Battery and Connectivity
The dual SIM handset, Mi A2 is backed by a 3,010mAh battery which supports fast charging and connectivity options available are Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C, 3.5mm audio jack, and, GPS.
The hybrid dual SIM, Xiaomi Mi A1 is packed with 3,080mAh battery life. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone comes with 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
