Xiaomi Mi A2, Mi A2 Lite With Android 8.1 Oreo Launched: Price, Specifications, India Availability

Xiaomi has launched two new smartphones Mi A2, Mi A2 Lite which are based on Google's Android One Program. Similar to previous year's Mi A1  which was rebranded version of Mi 5X , Mi A2 is also the global variant of Mi 6X. 

This year, Xiaomi has also launched Mi A2 Lite which is global variant of Redmi 6 Pro which was launched in China last month. 

Mi A2, Mi A2 Price

Xiaomi Mi A2 comes in three RAM+Storage configurations of 4GB+32GB, 4GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB. Xiaomi Mi A2 price starts from EUR 249 (roughly Rs 20,000) for 32GB storage model, EUR 279 (roughly Rs 22,500) for 64GB model and EUR 349 (roughly Rs 28,150) for 128GB storage model.

Xiaomi's VP Manu Kumar Jain has also confirmed that Mi A2 will be available in India from 8 August.

On the other hand, Mi A2 Lite comes in two RAM+Storage options of 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB. Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite price starts from EUR 179 (roughly Rs 14,500) for 32GB storage and EUR 229 (roughly Rs 18,500) for 64GB storage variant.

Both Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite are available in black, gold and blue colours.

Xiaomi Mi A2 Specifications

Mi A2 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and based on Google's Android One program which means the handset will get OS updates for next two years. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 512 GPU.

The dual-SIM handset features a 5.99-inches full HD+ (2160x1089) display with 18:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Mi A2 sports a dual camera setup at rear which includes 12-megapixels sensor with 1.25 μm pixels which clicks clearer photos in daylight and a 20-megapixels senor with 2 μm 4 in 1 pixel size which clicks brighter images during low-lighting conditions.

For selfies there is a 20-megapixels Sony IMX 376 sensor with Portrait mode, HSR and Face Beauty 4.0 and soft LED flash.

The metal body Mi A2 is backed by a 3,010mAh battery which supports fast charging. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C, 3.5mm audio jack, and, GPS.

Mi A2 Lite Specifications

Just like its sibling, Mi A2 Lite also runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and based on Android One program. 

It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor coupled with 3GB/4GB RAM. It has 32GB/64GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB through dedicated MicroSD slot.

Mi A2 Lite features a 5.84-inches FHD+ (2280x1080) display with 19:9 aspect ratio. It sports a dual camera setup at rear which includes 12-megapixels+5-megapixels sensors with f/2.2 aperture, LED flash, PDAF, AI Portrait Mode, and auto HDR. On the front is a 5-megapixels selfie snapper with AI Portrait mode and AI Smart Beauty.

The dual-SIM Mi A2 Lite is backed by a 4,000mAh battery. For security, there is a rear mounted fingerprint sensor and AI face unlock feature. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm headphone-jack, and Location. It measures 149.33 x 71.68 x 8.75mm and weighs 178 grams.
