Elon Musk said that he would seek exemption to provide satellite broadband service in Iran via Starlink. Musk made the statement on Twitter as protests erupted all over Iran over death of a woman in police custody.
The SpaceX CEO Elon Musk made the statement in response to a tweet that asked the tycoon to provide satellite-based stations in the country as access to social media and internet connectivity has been restricted in Iran to curb widespread protests across the country.
Musk although did not mention which country he would seek exemption from as Iran faces sanctions from many countries.
SpaceX-operated Starlink claims to provide high speeds and latency as low as 20ms in most locations through satellite internet.
Earlier this week, Musk took to Twitter to announce that Starlink is now available on all seven continents including Antarctica.
