Meta-owned, WhatsApp is testing an edit message feature for Beta users. The feature will allow users to edit a message that has already been sent and be marked as an edited message.
Twitter had also recently confirmed that its edit button will be rolling out soon.
The details and the testing of the feature were spotted and reported by Wabetainfo. The report confirms the feature is in the development stage. The timeline in which the feature will be available to Beta and general users is still unknown.
The edit messaging option will be available in the three-dot menu at the top-right of the chat while long press selecting the message that requires to be edited.
The report doesn’t clarify if WhatsApp will have a limited time frame where edits are allowed and whether this would support alt text or captions sent along with images.
Wabetainfo's report suggests that the feature will soon be available to Android, iOS, and desktop users.
