Vijay Anand Moonka, President of Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Honorary Secretary General has requested the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India that the current quota of 60 passport making per day at the Passport Seva Kendra located in Jamshedpur should be increased to meet the population and capacity to make passports.
Due to this low quota, residents of Jamshedpur are taking more than a month to get the passport after applying for it. Whereas in Passport Seva Kendras located in other districts of Jharkhand, this quota is more than the quota of Jamshedpur and there passport is issued to the applicant within a day or two of passport application. Therefore, the quota of Jamshedpur Passport Seva Kendra should also be increased to 200.
According to the current quota, it takes more than a month to make a passport application, due to which the students and businessmen/entrepreneurs who are going abroad for their studies after going out of state. Or those who are trying to do new business with foreign companies, problems are arising for them. Because these students are not getting admission in foreign institutions on time due to not getting passport on time and entrepreneurs/businessmen are also not able to visit foreign companies on time.
Therefore, the President of the Chamber and the Honorary General Secretary, in view of these problems faced by the students and entrepreneurs/businessmen of Jamshedpur, has drawn the attention of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
