Jong-Hee (JH) Han, Vice Chairman, CEO, and Head of the Device eXperience (DX) Division, is now on his second visit to India of the year, according to a statement released today by Samsung Electronics. The significance of India is increasing for the South Korean industry, as demonstrated by this visit. Han is seeing Samsung's Noida facility, where the firm produces refrigerators, tablets and smartphones, during his trip.
"India presents a significant opportunity for Samsung as it is one of the largest and fastest-growing markets worldwide," Han stated. We were among the first businesses to invest in India, and I'm glad that our Noida plant has grown to become one of our largest locations, producing goods for both India and the rest of the globe.
Samsung launched its "AI for All" vision at the beginning of the year, with the goal of improving customers' lives through artificial intelligence and hyper-connectivity enabled by open collaboration. This year, Samsung introduced its Galaxy AI-powered premium smartphones as well as Bespoke AI household appliances including refrigerators, air conditioners and washing machines. These items are part of a connected device ecosystem that aims to save energy while also providing convenience, connectivity and comfort.
The "One Samsung" experience, powered by innovative technology, has helped the brand differentiate its goods, notably in the luxury refrigerator market. This industry has grown in India, with consumers increasingly choosing for large-capacity refrigerators with advanced features. Samsung continues to launch premium items with bespoke design and AI features.
Han also emphasised the important role of India-based R&D teams in generating innovative goods and services. He stated, "India's enormous population of tech-savvy young customers inspires us to develop. I am delighted that many young, entrepreneurial engineers are working in our R&D centres in India, contributing significantly to the advancement of AI.
Samsung is dedicated to the "Make in India" project, with two production facilities in Noida and Sriperumbudur. Samsung has also established a design centre in Noida, as well as three Research and Development (R&D) facilities, two of which are in Noida and one in Bangalore. These R&D centres are critical in generating innovation for both domestic and international products.
Han's visit and words underline Samsung's continued focus on India as a significant market and innovation hub, emphasising the country's strategic relevance in Samsung's global operations.
