Renowned fashion designer Rohit Bal, often celebrated as one of India’s most influential and visionary designers, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024, following complications from a prolonged heart condition. Bal, aged 63, had been dealing with cardiac issues since last year and was admitted to Gurugram’s Medanta Hospital in November 2023, where he received treatment in the intensive care unit for his condition.
Bal, affectionately known as “Gudda,” took his last breath on Friday, and his passing was confirmed by the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) via their official Instagram handle. The council’s tribute highlighted Bal’s remarkable contributions to the Indian fashion industry: “We mourn the passing of Legendary designer Rohit Bal. He was a founding member of the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI).
