The government of India appointed Prabodh Seth and Ramesh Narain as members of the Central Board of Direct Taxes on Monday.
The Department of Personnel and Training under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions said that the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of the officers. Both officials come from the Indian Revenue Service.
Prabodh Seth, CCIT (International Taxation), Delhi replaced Sanjai Kumar Verma. Ramesh Narain Parbat, DGIT (Investigation), Lucknow will be posted against Ravi Agrawal.
The Central Board of Direct Taxes consists of a Chairman and six members that deal with income tax and revenue, audit and judicial, and others. The members of the CBDT are selected from the IRS and constitute the top management of the Income Tax Department.
