Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a conversation over call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, expressed India’s firm commitment to supporting peace efforts as tensions rise in West Asia.
Modi stressed that terrorism has no place in the world and stressed the importance of preventing further regional escalation. He also called for the safe release of all hostages amidst the ongoing conflict.
"Spoke to Prime Minister @netanyahu about recent developments in West Asia. Terrorism has no place in our world. It is crucial to prevent regional escalation and ensure the safe release of all hostages. India is committed to supporting efforts for an early restoration of peace and stability," said PM Modi.
This call comes as Israel has intensified airstrikes against Hezbollah and other Iran-backed militant groups in Lebanon and beyond. A recent strike in Beirut resulted in the death of Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, marking a major development in the escalating conflict. Israeli airstrikes have killed hundreds and displaced many, leaving the region on edge as violence threatens to spread further.
