Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella on Wednesday announced that the power of large language models, including OpenAI’s GPT, was coming to Microsoft Teams Premium.
While Teams Premium has been made generally available, the software is now also bringing with it the latest technologies, including Large Language Models powered by OpenAI’s GPT-3.5, to make meetings “more intelligent, personalised, and protected”.
By infusing AI in Teams, the company will give users “intelligent recap”, which will give them automatically generated meeting notes, recommended tasks, and personalised highlights to help get the information that’s important – even if they miss the meeting.
The intelligent recap will also users to save time spent reviewing meeting recordings. AI-generated chapters divide the meeting into sections so it’s easy to pick and choose the content most relevant to users. This is already available today for PowerPoint Live meeting recordings. Intelligent recap will automatically generate meeting chapters based on the meeting transcript as well.
“With intelligent recap, you can focus on the meeting discussion itself and not on capturing notes. In the coming months, you’ll see key points and takeaways after the meeting, with AI-generated notes automatically created and powered by GPT-3.5. Follow-up is easy with AI-generated tasks and action items automatically suggested for you,” mentioned the Microsoft blog.
Microsoft has announced Teams Premium with these advanced meeting capabilities and more for one cost of USD 10 per user per month. And, for a limited time, users can get Teams Premium for USD 7 per user per month or 30 percent off the standard price.
