Artifact, a popular news reading app by Instagram co-founders, Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger is now available for download on iOS and Android for Indian users, according to media reports.
The news application can now be used by Indian users without providing their email ID or phone number.
The application offers new features that allow the user to personalise their experience, by shortlisting the popular news feeds and framing their reading history.
The first time, users can select the news topics of interest and can invite and connect with their contacts to view articles that are popular in their network.
The app also notifies users, when several of their contacts have read an article with a special badge. After reading ten articles, users can also view statistics on their reading preferences, such as their top categories, publishers, and topics.
In addition to this, the updated Artifact app includes a thumbs-down icon that allows users to give feedback on the articles or publishers they don’t like. This feedback thus helps the app to develop a user-friendly feed.
Users can even add their phone number to save their preferences and history, log in across devices, or regain access.
With the new version of our app, we wish to introduce new tools to help, personalise user experience, visualise their reading history, and enhance their popular network. We believe in providing a news feed that lens with users’ network findings, said the company in its official statement.
