Multi-cloud Has Positive Impact On Financial Growth Of Indian Enterprises: Research

New research on Thursday revealed 98 per cent and 100 per cent of those surveyed across Indian enterprises report positive impacts of multi-cloud in terms of revenue and profitability growth, respectively

The report also indicated that 71 per cent of Indian enterprises believe that multi-cloud architectures are absolutely critical to business success, particularly those organisations that are in advanced stages of their cloud journey.

But most enterprises surveyed in India raise concerns about data sovereignty. About 60 per cent of Indian respondents show significant concern over data sovereignty.

Although a concern, 90 per cent of Indian organisations generally find it easy to manage and 85 per cent of Indian organisations find it easy to secure data in whichever nation it resides.

Meanwhile, 66 per cent respondents from India said they believed data monetisation will be a “significant” source of revenue in two years’ time.

As dependencies over digital infrastructure increased during lockdowns, cloud computing technology played an integral role in driving digital acceleration and innovation and helped enterprises enhance speed, agility, and responsiveness. 

The report says that 83 per cent Indian respondents from enterprises are ‘most likely’ to have had apps built to run across multiple public clouds for over a year.

Furthermore, the Vanson Bourne-VMware Research report states that it is expected that by 2027, businesses all over the world will on average rely on more than two public cloud vendors. Currently, only 19 per cent of surveyed businesses worldwide identify as "cloud smart." The complexity of multi-cloud, security issues and a lack of internal experience in multi-cloud deployment and administration are major obstacles for businesses.
