German car-maker Mercedes Benz will invest Rs 3,000 crore in Maharashtra this year, according to state Industries Minister Uday Samant.
The announcement was made during Samant's tour of Germany, where he met with top executives of Mercedes Benz to discuss potential investment opportunities in the state. The investment is expected to generate employment opportunities and provide a boost to the local economy.
Minister Samant shared the news on social media platform X. "Mercedes Benz will invest Rs 3,000 crore in Maharashtra this year. This will help create employment opportunities in the state," he said.
The development comes at a critical time for the Shiv Sena-BJP-NCP government, which has been facing criticism from the opposition regarding the alleged loss of major industrial projects to other states, particularly Gujarat.
