L&T Semiconductor Technologies on Tuesday said it will collaborate with IBM on processor technology development. The partnership will look to advance the design of processors for crucial sectors, including automotive, energy, industrial, and hybrid cloud systems.
Together, the two companies will focus on creating high-performance, secure, and scalable processors for edge devices and hybrid cloud environments. The partnership is expected to support India’s ambition of becoming a significant player in the global semiconductor industry by developing competitive technology solutions across multiple sectors.

This partnership builds on IBM’s existing initiatives in India, including a memorandum of understanding with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) to boost processor design and manufacturing for high-performance computing.
