The Election Commission of India (ECI) has shared the latest state-wise leads for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, revealing a mixed but highly competitive political landscape across the country.
The Congress-backed INDIA bloc is making significant gains in several states, particularly in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab. In the crucial battleground of Uttar Pradesh, the INDIA alliance is leading in 41 Lok Sabha constituencies. The Samajwadi Party, a key member of the alliance, is spearheading the charge against the BJP, currently ahead in 33 seats. Meanwhile, the BJP is holding onto 36 seats, reflecting a tight contest in the state.
Haryana is also showing a preference for the INDIA alliance. Congress is leading in 5 out of the state's 10 seats, and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is ahead in 1 seat. The BJP is leading in 4 seats, making it a competitive race. In Punjab, the Congress is leading in 6 seats, while AAP is ahead in 3 seats. This indicates a strong showing for the INDIA alliance in the state.
BJP+ Maintains Stronghold in Several States
The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is maintaining a strong lead in several key states, demonstrating its robust support base. In Madhya Pradesh, the BJP is leading in all 29 Lok Sabha seats, showcasing a sweeping victory in the state. Gujarat remains a BJP stronghold with the party ahead in a majority of constituencies.
Bihar also reflects strong support for the BJP, where the party is leading comfortably. The BJP is leading in 28 out of 48 seats in Maharashtra and 17 out of 28 seats in Karnataka, further solidifying its position in these states.
The state-wise results illustrate a dynamic and competitive electoral scenario, with the INDIA alliance making inroads in several states while the BJP+ continues to hold its ground in traditional strongholds. As counting progresses, the final outcomes will determine the composition of the next Lok Sabha, setting the stage for the future political landscape of India.
