JioMart On WhatsApp Will Be A Big Opportunity: Meta CEO

During Meta’s Q3 earnings call, its founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that JioMart on WhatsApp could be a big opportunity for the company.

He said that JioMart was launched on WhatsApp in India as the first end-to-end shopping experience that shows the potential for chat-based commerce through messaging. 

Zuckerberg went to say he was confident that the opportunity would be big as the service sits well between click-to-messaging and paid messaging.

In August, Meta in partnership with Jio Platforms had launched end-to-end shopping experience, where users can shop from e-commerce platform JioMart via using WhatsApp chat. It offers an end-to-end shopping experience on WhatsApp, which allows people to buy groceries from JioMart right in a chat. 

“Business messaging is an area with real momentum and chat-based experiences like this will be the go-to way people and businesses communicate in the years to come,” Zuckerberg had said during the partnership announcement in August.

JioMart’s WhatsApp Bot, built by Haptik (Jio subsidiary), is capable of providing an end-to-end eCommerce shopping experience.
