Reliance Jio on Monday announced the launch of its 5G services in Andhra Pradesh (AP). In addition to an investment of Rs 26,000 crore, the telco has invested over Rs 6,500 crore for deploying 5G network in the state, according to Andhra Pradesh State IT Minister Gudivada Amarnath who was present at the launch event.
The RIL subsidiary has launched 5G services in the districts of Tirumala, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Guntur districts in AP. The services will be available to selected customers at no additional cost.
During the Jio 5G launch event in the state, Gudivada Amarnath IT Minister, Andhra Pradesh, and chief secretary, government of Andhra Pradesh, K S Jawahar Reddy were present.
Speaking on wider rollout of Jio 5G in the state, Minister Amarnath said it would be made available in “every town, taluka, mandalam and village” by December 2023.
In a statement, Jio will invite users to its Jio Welcome Offer to avail its 5G services in Andhra Pradesh.
