iPhone 7 At Rs 37k VS OnePlus 5T At Rs 33k : Which One Should You Buy?

Recently Chinese smartphone company OnePlus launched its latest flagship smartphone OnePlus 5T. If you are planning to buy a phone under 40k then you must also consider buying the OnePlus 5T.
OnePlus 5T price in India is Rs 32,999 for 64GB and Rs 37,999 for 128GB variant. OnePlus 5T will go on Early Access sale on 21 November at 4:30 pm on Amazon and oneplusstore.in along with North America and Europe. The device will also be available through all sales channels in the country soon after.
The smartphone is available in two RAM and storage configurations of 6GB RAM+64GB storage and 8GB RAM+128GB. There is no MicroSD card slot in the smartphone and storage cannot be expanded.
Perception
As OnePlus 5T is going to hit the shelves from 21 November in Indian markets at the price of Rs 32,999 (64GB) and Rs 37000 (128GB), BW Businessworld surveyed youth as to which smartphone would they prefer when iPhone 7 is coming relatively at the same price in markets. As the survey says, brand name tops the features and influenced the buyers while making the choice.
Consumers are more interested in buying iPhone 7 even though it was launched last year Brand value is a major factor which influences the buyers when choosing between smartphones.

Resell Value
Apple launches new iPhones once in a year, this year Apple launched iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and iPhone X which has clearly depreciated the value of iPhone 7.
On the other hand, OnePlus launches smartphones twice in a year and has recently launched the OnePlus 5T.
OnePlus 3T which was launched last year at Rs 29,999 (64GB), its price fell by only Rs 4,000 after 11 months during October 2017. Whereas, iPhone 7 was launched at a price of Rs 60,000 (32GB) and after 11 months its price fell by Rs 15,000. So the deprivation percentage in iPhones is much higher when compared to Oneplus phones.
When you’ll sell a 6 months old OnePlus 5 (64GB) in good condition with its bill and charger, you can easily get up to Rs 20,000. If you’ll sell a six months older iPhone 7 (32GB) in good condition with bill, charger, and earphones, you will get up to Rs 26,000.
Display and Camera
iPhone 7 features a 4.7-inch retina HD (1334x750) LCD IPS display with fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating. iPhone 7 sports a 12- megapixels rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, OIS, and up to 5x digital zoom. On the front is a 7-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture and retina flash.
The major highlight of OnePlus 5T is its 18:9 display, it features a 6.01-inch full HD (2160x1080) AMOLED display with an 18:9 ratio, 2.5D curved glass and Corning Glass 5 for protection.
OnePlus 5T sports a dual camera on the rear with 16-megapixel+20-megapixel sensors and dual LED Flash where first one is a wide-angle camera with f/1.7 and second one is a telephoto lens with f/1.7 aperture. On the front is a 16-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture and Screen Flash.
Software, Processor, and Storage
iPhone 7 runs on the new iOS 11 and powered by A10 Fusion chip. The handset comes in two storage variants of 64GB and 256GB. The storage is not expandable through MicroSD card.
OnePlus 5T runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with company’s OxygenOS on top; it will soon be getting Android 8.0 Oreo update. It powered by a 2.45 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. The smartphone is available in two RAM and storage configurations of 6GB RAM+64GB storage and 8GB RAM+128GB. There is no MicroSD card slot in the smartphone and storage cannot be expanded.
Battery and Connectivity
The battery of iPhone 7 lasts 2 hours extra than the iPhone 6s and can give up to 14 hours of talk-time, 12 hours of internet usage. The smartphone is IP67 water and dust resistant. The home button on the front also doubles as the fingerprint sensor with which you can unlock the phone.
The handset measures 138.3 x 67.1 x 7.1mm and weighs 138 grams. Connectivity options are – Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, GPS, single SIM (nano), 4G VoLTE. There is no 3.5mm audio-jack so the audio is routed through headphone jack adaptor.
The smartphone is backed by a non-removable 3300mAh battery which supports Dash Charge. The handset has dedicated slots for dual-SIM (nano+nano) configuration. The smartphone also has a rear mounted fingerprint sensor which unlocks it in 0.2 seconds. OnePlus 5T also features facial recognition which the company claims is very reliable and unlocks the phone in 0.4 seconds.
Connectivity options of OnePlus 5T includes- Wi-Fi 2x2 MIMO, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm audio-jack, NFC, USB 2.0, Type-C, GPS, GLONASS and BeiDou. The handset measures 156.1 x 75.7 x 7.3mm and weighs 162 grams.
