According to a Counterpoint Technology analysis, Apple models took the top three rankings, while Samsung's Galaxy series also performed well, indicating a fierce rivalry between the two tech giants, however interestingly, Samsung’s recently introduced Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra could not beat the iPhone 14 which entered the market in year 2022.
According to Counterpoint Technology Market Research, Apple's iPhone 15 became the best-selling smartphone model worldwide in the first quarter of 2024. It was quickly followed by the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro, demonstrating Apple's sustained dominance in the premium smartphone market. The iPhone 14, which topped the charts the previous year, remained popular, ranking fourth.
Samsung, on the other hand, made progress with its latest Galaxy devices. Samsung models, such as the Galaxy A15 5G and Galaxy A54, made the top ten, demonstrating the brand's appeal across a range of price points.
During the list’s tug of war between Apple and Samsung, Redmi 13C managed to attain the seventh position in the top ten listers. With this analysis one can derive the smartphone market’s two most influential players are in a face-off with their latest and older innovations. While Apple continues to dominate the high-end market with its iPhone series, Samsung's strategy of delivering a diverse selection of models at a variety of price points appears to be working.
