Intel's highly anticipated Arrow Lake-S series, which was originally scheduled for a 10 October launch with a subsequent 17 October release, has reportedly been delayed. According to multiple sources, including HKEPC, the new launch date is 24 October. However a rumour, the adjustment has been confirmed by several motherboard manufacturers, providing legitimacy to the revised timeframe.
The Arrow Lake-S series is expected to launch with five models: the Core Ultra 9 285K, Core Ultra 7 265K and 265KF and Core Ultra 5 245K and KF. Despite the anticipation of these models, Intel has yet to formally confirm the SKUs or release details about the architecture, which is expected to incorporate Lion Cove P-Cores and Skymont E-Cores.
Unlike earlier generations, Arrow Lake-S will not work with existing LGA-1700 motherboards. Instead, the future Z890 series motherboards will feature a new LGA-1851 socket. These new boards are also scheduled to be released in conjunction with the Arrow Lake-S CPUs.
As with prior Intel releases, the launch will most likely be planned. K-series devices are projected to be available first, with non-K variations coming a few months later, maybe after CES 2025. Along with this, more affordable motherboards supporting the new socket are expected to appear at a later date.
