IndiGo, India’s largest airline, has officially received its first Airbus A321neo fitted with the all-new IndiGo Stretch Business Class seats, marking a major milestone for the airline as it expands into premium travel offerings.
According to media reports, the A321neo, registered as VT-ICF, was delivered from Hamburg, Germany, on 30 October 2024, coinciding with Airbus’s delivery of the world’s first A321XLR to Iberia.
IndiGo’s new A321neo aircraft is configured with 12 premium Business Class seats in a 2-2 layout, complemented by 190 economy seats, including XL seats. IndiGo Stretch, the airline’s fresh business product introduced on its 18th anniversary in August, offers a luxurious 38-inch seat pitch, a width of 21.3 inches, adjustable headrests, and advanced amenities like USB-Type C ports and three-pin power outlets. Oberoi Catering Services will provide exclusive, health-focused meal options for business passengers.
IndiGo Stretch will debut on the busy Delhi-Mumbai route from 14 November 2024, with introductory fares starting at Rs 18,018. IndiGo plans to gradually expand the offering across 12 routes by late 2025, catering to both seasoned business travellers and first-time premium flyers.
Additionally, IndiGo is preparing for international growth with plans to add seven new international destinations by the end of FY2024-25, taking the total to 40, as part of its vision to become a globally recognized airline.
