HTC has launched two new affordable smartphones HTC Desire 12 and Desire 12+ in India. The handsets are offered with 18:9 ratio displays, glass body, Android 8.0 Oreo, up to 2TB of expandable storage.
HTC Desire 12, Desire 12+ price in India is Rs 15,800 and Rs 19,790, respectively. Both handsets will be available through offline retailers only, starting from 11 June; buyers can also pre-book the phone from June 7.
HTC Desire 12, Desire 12+ Specifications
The major difference between HTC Desire 12 and HTC Desire 12+ is display size, the former has a 5.5-inches HD+ (1440x720) IPS display and the latter comes with a 6-inches (1440x720) IPS display. The displays on both phones have an 18:9 aspect ratio, which means the bezels are comparatively smaller than the traditional smartphones.
HTC Desire 12 is powered by a MediaTek MT6739 quad-core processor, while the bigger HTC Desire 12+ is packed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor. Both smartphones run on Android 8.0 Oreo, have 3GB RAM, 32GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 2TB using a MicroSD card.
Talking about the camera, both phones have their differences here too, HTC Desire 12 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and f/2.2 aperture, HDR and Phase-Detection Autofocus. For selfies, it has a 5-megapixels selfie snapper with f/2.4 aperture.
The bigger HTC Desire 12+ features a dual-camera setup at the rear which includes 13-megapixels+2-megapixels sensors with f/2.2 aperture, Bokeh mode, LED flash, and PDAF. On the front is an 8-megapixels selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash.
HTC Desire 12 is backed by a 2,730mAh battery while Desire 12+ by a 2,965mAh battery. Also, the Desire 12+ has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and the smaller Desire 12 doesn’t. Both phones are available in Cool Black and Warm Silver colours.
Connectivity options for both dual-SIM phones are Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm headphone-jack, micro-USB 2.0 and Location.
