Despite mixed reviews about the slapstick comedy, audiences have apparently flocked towards the theatres for the movie giving it the 2nd highest first day opening in box office in 2016 (after SRK’s FAN)

The collection numbers for opening day (Friday 3rd June, 2016) for India were INR 15.21 crore. The collections rose by 7.17% on Saturday and amounted to INR 16.30 crore. The total collection in the first 2 days were INR 31.51 crore.

The second day also saw a rise of occupancy in theaters across the world with UK, Australia and New Zealand seeing 24.20%, 46.05% and 26.37% increase respectively. The collection so far for have surpassed the performances of popular movies of 2016 like Airlift and FAN.
The movie was made with an estimated budget of INR 85 crores including production cost and advertising cost. The movie was released in over 3700 screens throughout the India and 670 screens overseas. It is expected that the movie will recover the costs within the first week itself but what remains to be seen is whether the third franchisee of Houseful will cross the overall collection of Houseful 2 which incidentally is one of the highest grossing comedy movie ever (INR 114 crores). Houseful 3 also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Abhishek Bachchan, Nargis Fakhri, Riteish Deshmukh and Lisa Haydon.
