Honor Play With Kirin 970 SoC Launched In India; Price Starts From Rs 19,999

Honor has launched their new mid-range smartphone Honor Play in India. The major highlights of the handset includes high-end Kirin 970 processor, 6.3-inches display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 16-megapixel selfie camera, AI backed dual rear cameras and GPU Turbo. 

GPU Turbo improves graphics processing efficiency by 60 percent and reducing SoC energy consumption by 30 percent, setting new records in smartphone performance and energy consumption balance.

Honor Play Price

Honor Play price in India starts from Rs 19,999 for 4GB RAM variant and Rs 23,999 for 6GB RAM variant. The handset is available through Amazon and Honor's website. It is available in two colours midnight black and navy blue 

Vodafone is offering additional 120 GB free data for 12 months to the customers buying the Honor Play. At the same time, post-paid customers will also get 10GB free data extra for 12 months on any Vodafone RED plan starting Rs. 399. Additionally, Vodafone postpaid customers will get 1 year Amazon Prime at no additional cost, only on Vodafone RED Post-paid  plans (rental Rs. 399 or higher)

Honor Play Specifications

Honor Play runs on EMUI 8.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. Honor Play is powered by Kirin 970 octa-core processor coupled with Neural Processing Unit (NPU) which comes in Honor 10 and Huawei P20 Pro.  

The handset comes in two RAM+Storage options of 4GB+64GB and 6GB+64GB, with storage in both variants expandable up to 256GB through a MicroSD card.

The metal body Honor Play features a 6.3-inch FHD+ (2340x1080) display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It sports a dual rear camera setup at the rear with Honor 10 like AI capabilities, 16-MP+2-MP cameras, PDAF, EIS, and AIS. For selfies, there is a 16-megapixels camera with f/2.0 aperture.

The dual-SIM Honor mobile is backed by a 3,750mAh battery which supports fast charging. For security, there is a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and face unlock feature. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C (2.0), 3.5mm headphone-jack, and Location.
