Another leak has surfaced revealing the features of the, to be released Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Google's second foldable smartphone post last year's Pixel Fold. This leak provides details of the gadget’s design, size and essential functions.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold measures 155.2 x 77.1 x 10.5 mm folded and 155.2 x 150.2 x 5.1 mm unfurled. The device is somewhat expected to be taller, broader and thinner than its biggest competition, Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold6. Despite its small size, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is bulkier than the world-record-breaking Honour Magic V3, which is only 9.3 mm thin when folded. The new Pixel foldable will reportedly weigh 257g, which is heavier than the Magic V3 that weighs around 226g, the Galaxy Z Fold6 which is of around 239g and the OnePlus Open that weighs 239g, but significantly less than the Pixel Fold that came last year.
One of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold's notable characteristics is its display. The inner screen will be among the biggest on the market, second only to the Vivo X Fold3 Pro. Both the internal and outdoor screens will allegedly have a peak brightness of up to 2,700 nits, ensuring good sight even in bright settings.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be available in 256GB and 512GB configurations, wherein only the 256GB model will be accessible in India. The smartphone will include 16GB of RAM and a 4,650 mAh battery. The battery capacity is somewhat expected to be lower than the 4,821 mAh cell featured in the original Pixel Fold. Despite the bigger displays and smaller battery, Google promises that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold would provide "24 hours of battery life," which can be extended to 72 hours with the Extreme Battery Saver option.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold, like the rest of the Pixel 9 family, will come with Android 14. An upgrade to Android 15 is scheduled to arrive within a few weeks after its release, giving customers access to the most recent features and enhancements. As none of it is confirmed by the respective organisation yet, one must wait for the official release from the organisation.
