California based tech giant Google has launched their third generation Pixel phones- 5.5-inch display Pixel 3 and 6.3-inch display Pixel 3XL. Both handsets are similar in features but differ when it comes to display size battery and design. Major highlights of new Pixel phones include 12.2-MP rear camera, dual 8-MP front cameras, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB/128GB of internal storage and Android 9.0 Pie.
Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL Specifications
The third gen Pixel XL features a 6.3-inches QHD+ (2960x1440) display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio, pixel density of 523ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Pixel 3XL is another handset which joins the list of devices with notch displays. The notch at the top is quite bulky and houses two selfie cams (wide-angle+normal), earpiece and other sensors.
On the other hand, the smaller Pixel 3 features a 5.5-inch FHD+ (2160x1080) with 18:9 aspect ratio, 443ppi pixel density, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Unlike its bigger sibling, the Pixel 3 doesn't have a notch, instead it has bulky bezels at the top and bottom.
The handsets also has front firing stereo speakers with one at the bottom and earpiece doubling as another speaker. Both devices are IP68 rated water and dust resistance. On the rear is also a fingerprint scanner for fast unlocking.
Both Pixel 3 and 3 XL handsets are available in three colours- Just Black, Clearly White, and a new colour which Google calls it ‘Not Pink’, which is kind of pink.
Pixel 3 is backed by a 2,915mAh battery while the bigger Pixel 3XL has a larger 3,430mAh battery. Google claims that both handsets can deliver up to 7 hours of battery backup within 15 minutes of charging. The handsets are also capable of wireless charging.
The single-SIM handsets run on the latest Android 9.0 Pie software version. The handsets are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor, coupled with Adreno 630 GPU. The handsets have 4GB RAM and comes in two storage variants of 64GB and 128GB, without any MicroSD card slot.
When it comes to camera, Google again showed everyone that you don’t need multiple camera to click good quality images. Pixel handsets sport a 12.2-megapixel single rear camera with optical and electronic image stabilisation, f/1.8 aperture, dual phase detection autofocus, HDR+ mode, and Portrait mode. Thanks to Google’s co-processor Pixel Visual Core, the handsets are capable of taking amazing HDR+ shots.
On the front, Google has gone with two selfie cameras 8-megapixel (wide-angle, f/2.2 aperture, 97-degree FOV and fixed focus) + 8-megapixels (normal, f/1.8 aperture, 75 degree FOV, and autofocus).
Google Pixel 3 Price and Availability in India
Google Pixel 3 price in India starts from Rs 71,000 for 64GB storage variant and Rs 80,000 for 128GB. On the other hand, the larger Pixel 3 XL price starts from Rs 80,000 for 64GB and Rs 92,000 for 128GB variant. Pre-booking for new handsets begin from 11 October and sale starts from 1 November. Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will be available in India via Flipkart and offline retail partners across India.
