The Defence Forces (Army, navy and air force), PM of country, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the Supreme Court of India and the Election Commission have emerged the most trusted institutions of 2024, according to the Ipsos IndiaBus Most Trusted Institutions annual survey.
The survey is conducted pan India, across SECs, age groups, cities with representation across metros, tier 1, tier 2 and tier 3 cities and across different cohorts and regions using the Ipsos IndiaBus platform. The respondents were exposed to a list of institutions and asked to rank them on trustworthiness.
Parijat Chakraborty, Group Service Line Leader, Public Affairs, Corporate Reputation, CSR and Sustainability, Ipsos India said, "The top rankers on trust in our annual survey of the Ipsos IndiaBus Most Trusted Institutions mapped on the perception of citizens are the defence forces, PM of country, the RBI, the Supreme Court of India and the Election Commission of India; emerging most trusted. All these institutions uphold the highest form of integrity, values and trustworthiness. Political Parties and politicians despite turning more accountable and serving the people, continue to be viewed with skepticism and adjudged least trustworthy. The survey shows, that for the perception to be shifted or to be clearly understood, building awareness around institutions is not only built overtime, but sustained with exemplary work and values."
