Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau postponed two days meeting scheduled in Ottawa with provincial premiers and First Nations leaders after his wife tested positive for the COVID-19.
PM will now hold the discussion over the phone with the provincial premiers. The topic of discussion would include Canada’s response to the pandemic, as per the statement reported by a New York Daily.
After returning from London, Trudeau’s wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau began to show the flu-like symptoms on Wednesday night.
Following this, health professionals will be contacting and testing the people who were recently in contact with Sophie.
However, PM hasn’t shown any symptoms yet and those who have been in contact with him are considered not to be at risk of the illness.
In recent days, various politicians have been isolating themselves around the globe as they came in possible contact with the virus. As per the current report, it includes five senior US Republicans and a Canadian cabinet minister.
