Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates in an interview said that OpenAI’s AI chatbot ChatGPT would change the world and is as big a creation as the internet.
Speaking with a German media house Handelsblatt, Gates said programs like AI will make many office jobs efficient and result in lesser work hours.
Gates also said that he doesn’t think that artificial intelligence (AI) is going to affect the number of jobs. He opined that machines would take over routine tasks which would mean that employees will have more time to focus on important activities at their workplace.
But he also added that as AI get smarter, they are going to impact the job market in a big way.
A report earlier in februray revealed that ChatGPT has become the fastest-growing app ever to hit 100 million users.
The revelation was made by UBS study based on Similarweb data. UBS analysts said that they could not recall a faster “ramp” in a consumer internet app.
ChatGPT has pipped apps such as TikTok and Instagram in the race to cross 100 million users in the fastest fashion.
The chatbot was launched for general public late November and has fast become popular globally.
ChatGPT’s stellar growth has also prompted Microsoft to reportedly invest an additional USD 10 billion into its creator OpenAI. The development has become a concern for other big tech players.
