Several regions will observe the closure of banks in celebration of Bakri Eid on 29 June. However, in certain states, including a few others, banks will remain closed on 28 June for Bakri Eid, as stated by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday list.
During the month of June, banks will be closed on various occasions, namely Y.M.A. Day/Raja Sankranti, Kang (Rathajatra)/Ratha Yatra, Kharchi Puja, Bakri Eid (Eid-Ul-Zuha), and Remna Ni/Id-Ul-Zuha.
For Bakri Eid (Eid-Ul-Zuha), banks in Maharashtra, Jammu, Kerala, and Srinagar will be closed on 28 June.
Regarding Bakri Eid (Eid-Ul-Adha), banks in the following states will be closed on 29 June:
Tripura, Gujarat, Mizoram, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Manipur, Rajasthan, Jammu and Srinagar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, New Delhi, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh.
However, banks in Maharashtra, Sikkim, Orissa, and Kerala will remain open.
For Remna Ni/Id-Ul-Zuha, banks in Mizoram and Orissa will be closed on 30 June.
These holidays have been designated by the RBI as follows: Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday, and Banks' Closing of Accounts.
Online banking
Net banking, mobile banking, and Whatsapp banking services are offered by almost all banks. These services allow customers to access non-financial and financial banking services without visiting a physical branch.
Holidays for July
In July 2023, banks will be closed for 15 days, including the second and fourth Saturdays of the month and Sundays. Both public and private banks will observe closures on the occasions of Guru Hargobind Ji's Birthday, MHIP Day, Ker Puja, Bhanu Jayanti, U Tirot Sing Day, Drukpa Tshe-zi, Ashoora, and Muharram (Tajiya) in select states.
