Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, will visit Saudi Arabia from 29-30 October to build trade and investment ties with the nation. During the visit, Shri Goyal will attend the Eighth Future Investment Initiative (FII) in Riyadh, a key event that gathers global leaders, investors, and innovators to explore new economic ideas.
In support of India’s culture and the diaspora in Saudi Arabia, Shri Goyal will open the Diwali Utsav at Lulu Hypermarket in Riyadh. He will also unveil the One District, One Product (ODOP) Wall at the Indian Embassy, designed to share India’s traditional crafts and local products with the global community.
At the FII, Shri Goyal will hold discussions to bring more global investment to India, focusing on areas like sustainable development, digital infrastructure, renewable energy, and technology. These meetings align with the Make in India goal of drawing foreign investment and creating growth opportunities within the country.
The Minister will meet with several Saudi ministers, including the Minister of Commerce, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Minister of Investment, and Minister of Energy, to discuss cooperation in areas like energy, technology, and trade. Shri Goyal will also co-chair the second Ministerial Meeting of the Economy and Investment Committee under the India-Saudi Strategic Partnership Council, focusing on agriculture, food security, energy, and infrastructure.
This visit aims to reinforce India’s efforts to work closely with Saudi Arabia on trade, investment, and sustainable growth across key sectors.
