Asus ZenFone 5z With Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Launched In India; Price Starts From Rs 29,999, Will Compete With OnePlus 6

Taiwanese electronics company Asus has launched their new mid-range smartphone Asus ZenFone 5z in India. The handset is Asus’ latest flagship offering in the Indian market which is packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, AI-backed dual rear cameras, 19:9 ratio display with 90 percent screen-to-body ratio, Android 8.0 Oreo.  

Asus ZenFone 5z Price

The price of Asus Zenfone 5z were leaked earlier and it turns out they were correct. The handset comes in three RAM+ Storage variants, prices of which are-

Asus ZenFone 5z (6GB+64GB) – Rs 29,999

Asus ZenFone 5z (6GB+128GB) – Rs 32,999

Asus ZenFone 5z (8GB+256GB) – Rs 36,999

At this price, Asus ZenFone 5z will compete with the likes of OnePlus 6, Vivo X21 and Honor 10. The handset is exclusively available through Flipkart, sale starts from July 9. On the purchase Asus ZenFone 5z using ICICI Bank credit & debit card, buyers will get flat Rs 3,000 off. Jio customers can also avail a cashback of Rs 2,200 along with 100GB of additional data. Other launch offers include No cost EMI starting from Rs 3,333 per month and Flipkart’s Complete Mobile Protection plan just for Rs 499.

Asus ZenFone 5z Specifications

Asus ZenFone 5z runs on ZenUI 5.0 which is based on Android 8.0 Oreo. It is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with 6GB/8GB RAM. It has 64GB/128GB/256GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 2TB through a MicroSD card.

The new handset features a 6.2-inches FHD+ (2246x1080) Super IPS+ display with 19:9 aspect ratio, 90 percent screen-to-body ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass.

ZenFone 5z sports a dual camera setup at the rear which includes primary 12-megapixels (f/1.8 aperture) sensor and 8-megapixels (f/2.2 aperture) secondary sensor with LED flash and OIS.

Asus is also touting AI based scene detection, real-time Portrait, and beautification. The rear camera is also capable of shooting 4K videos at 60fps. On the front is an 8-megapixels selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.    

The dual-SIM smartphone is backed by a 3,300mAh battery which supports fast charging. For security, there is a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and face unlock feature.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, 3.5mm audio-jack, USB Type-C, and Location. Asus ZenFone 5z measures 153 X 75.65 X 7.7mm and weighs 165 grams.
