Asus Launches Two Budget Smartphones- Zenfone Lite (L1) and Zenfone Max (M1)

Taiwanese electronics company Asus has launched two new affordable smartphones in India- Asus Zenfone Max (M1) and Zenfone Lite (L1) at an event in New Delhi today (17 October). The new handsets are company’s latest offering after Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M1) and Zenfone 5Z.

Asus Zenfone Lite (L1), Zenfone Max (M1) Pricing and Availability 

Asus Zenfone Lite is priced at Rs 6,999 in India but the handset will be available at an introductory price of Rs 5,999 during festive season sales with undefined dates which Flipkart is expected to host soon. Similarly, the Asus Zenfone Max (M1) is priced at Rs 8,999 but will be available at an introductory price of Rs 7,499 on Flipkart very soon. Jio is also offering a cashback worth Rs 2,200 and 50GB additional 4G data. Both handsets are available in two colours- Blue and Gold.

Asus Zenfone Lite (L1), Zenfone Max (M1) Specifications

Both Asus Zenfone Lite and Zenfone Max run on ZenUI 5 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The handsets are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor. Zenfone Lite comes with 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB via a MicroSD card. On the other hand, Zenfone Max comes with 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, which is also expandable up to 256GB via a MicroSD card.

The new Asus handset duo have a 5.45-inch HD+ (1440x720) LCD display 18:9 aspect ratio, 82 percent screen-to-body ratio and 2.5D curved glass. Both handsets are available in Black and Gold colours.

Talking about optics, Zenfone Max sports a 13-MP rear camera with LED flash, PDAF and Portrait mode. On the front is an 8-MP selfie camera with LED flash, Portrait mode and Beauty mode.

On the other hand, Zenfone Lite sports a 5-MP selfie camera with LED flash and Portait mode. While the Zenfone Lite’s rear camera is 13-MP, similar to Zenfone Max. When it comes to battery, Zenfone Lite (L1) is packed with a 3,000mAh battery, while Zenfone Max (M1) is backed by a 4,000mAh battery.
