Just like previous year, Apple is expected to launch three new models of iPhones during the month of September. Even though there has been no confirmation from Tim Cook, but several video teasers and reports have predicted the design, price and specifications of these new models.
According to the new photos and videos shared by Shai Mizrachi with 9to5 Mac, two of three models will incorporate OLED displays, one standard size 5.8-inches model- the successor of iPhone X, a larger 6.5-inches model- which could be thought of as an iPhone X Plus. However, there is also going to be iPhone 9 with 6.1-inches LCD display which will be much cheaper than the other two upcoming models.
iPhone 9 is successor of iPhone 8 whereas the upcoming iPhone X is a better version of previous year’s iPhone X and iPhone X Plus is the premium handset than the rest.
Recently a video teaser was shared by Mac Otakara, where the dummy of three new models focused on the dimensions of the smartphones. The 6.1-inches LCD handset (iPhone 9) is expected to measure 150.91 X 75.72 X 8.47 mm thick whereas iPhone X Plus will probably measure up to 157.53 X 77.44 X 7.85 mm and the iPhone X at 143.X 70.9 X 7.7 mm thick.
KGI Securities Analyst Ming-chi Kuo also shared some details about the upcoming Apple handsets:
iPhone 9
iPhone 9 is expected to be the successor of iPhone 8 with 6.1-inches TFT-LCD (320-330 PPI). Unlike iPhone 8, the successor will have out-cell display touch with 3GB RAM. The handset’s design will be similar to iPhone X with a notch, thin bezels and Face ID.
In order to keep the price low, iPhone 9 is expected to have LCD display instead of OLED, aluminium frame instead of stainless steel and single rear camera.
The analyst also believes that iPhone 9 will be available with a variety of colour options like the iPhone 5c. According to him, Apple is planning to bring grey, white, red, orange, and blue.

iPhone X and iPhone X Plus
According to the KGI Securities analyst Ming-chi Kuo, iPhone X and iPhone X Plus will have 5.8-inches OLED (458 PPI) and 6.5-inches OLED (480-500 PPI) respectively with out-cell display touch. Both the smartphones might have stainless steel framework and packed with up gradation to 4GB RAM. Just like the previous iPhone X edition, iPhone X successor and iPhone X Plus will sport dual rear camera with portrait mode and portrait lighting feature.
Both handsets are expected to have edge-to-edge display along with improved Face ID system, which officially leads to elimination of home button and Touch ID fingerprint sensor from all Apple phones in the future too.
According to Mac Otakara the new 6.5 inches model will be 0.2mm thicker due to the change of implementation of dual rear camera and unlike previous model, iOS 12 will able to unlock phone in vertical state as well via Face ID system.
This year LG Display is expected to provide the display for 6.5 inch OLED iPhones. Samsung on the other hand will be handling most of its OLED displays. Apple could also tap Japan displays for extra supply.
